The TerraSan® T-WWTP has a state-of-the-art programmable logic control (PLC) and monitor system, which interfaces with the separate controllers operating the sub-systems. The PLC is fitted with a touch screen interface to provide “at-a-glance” system parameters including trend graphics and peak history. The PLC has fail-safe capabilities that compensate, shut down, and alarm to prevent non-compliance conditions, and to assure system performance. The disinfection stage is monitored and adjusted by the PLC to assure proper sanitization of the effluent stream, assuring compliance with regulations. Interfaced with the PLC, the display monitor provides continuous monitoring of influent and effluent parameters including TSS, pH, salinity, disinfection system percentages, flow rates (influent, effluent and sludge), and flow volume totals (influent, effluent and sludge).
The operation of the TerraSan® T-WWTP system is fully automatic requiring only initial start commands from the Operator. A central operator interface control panel provides status indication and manual overrides of the automatic operation for the entire system and the various sub-systems of the plant. Hands-Off-Auto-Control includes run-type selection, PLC enabling, automatic course screen, influent pumps, liquid/solids separator, recirculation pumps, feed pumps, vacuum system, and effluent pumps. The control panel includes visual indication of run/stop status, thermal relay pump status, high/low level alarms, “lack of flow” alarms, flow indication, pressure/vacuum alarms, valve status and discharge states. The components monitored include the automatic course screen, pumps, IONZ® generator system, supply tank system, Bro-Gen™ disinfection systems, and coagulant and flocculants feed systems. A remote display panel, may be located in a control facility, and is available (as an option) for monitoring and alarm functions only.
